Jazmin on the Move! Jaedin makes a basket!

Jazmin is almost ready to take those first steps! She loves to push this little walker/thing around! She thinks she is so big! We clap and say "YAY" and she walks even faster! She is totally motivated by our encouragement!

Here is Jaedin's first basket of the season...

The first video is of Jaedin dribbling and shooting. The second video is of him dribbling past his defender to make a basket. One of the kids from the other team steals the ball, unfortunately! (stealing is not allowed in second grade basketball) Jaedin did make a basket in the first quarter. One of his teammates set up a screen and Jaedin dribbled to about 4 feet in front of the free throw line and shot the ball...NOTHING BUT NET BABY!!!!!

Here we are in 2009...and I'm pregnant again. I started one of these blogs last year and haven't kept up with it. I will try harder this year (I promise). We've been in Indiana now for 7 months and I'm finally calling it home. It took me a while but I finally realized that my home is here with Cedric, Jaedin & Jazmin. I have come to realize how great this place is for raising children. The change of pace is just what our family needed.

The winters aren't so bad. It snows every now and then but mostly it just stays really, really cold with ice storms. Personally, I'd rather drive in the snow than on black ice. But that's just me. But often times there isn't any ice, the temperature just floats between the high teens and the low thirties. We had this weird week at the end of December where it was almost sixty degrees but I was told that is rare. We all purchased ear muffs a couple weeks ago and those have been mandatory every day since. We got thos cool kind that wrap behind the head rather than having the appearance of a woman's headband. They look great on Jaedin and Cedric, needless to say.

We had a blast over Christmas break. Cedric was able to take a week of vacation and we did a whole lot of nothing! It was awesome! We were able to relax and just hang out as a family. We did join this super, family oriented rec center. It's great for all of us: indoor track, basketball courts, kids playroom, workout area, aerobics, small indoor water park, and a HUGE outdoor water park for the summer time! Jaedin is doing very well in school. He continues to get excellent grades and seems to love being around his friends and his teacher. He started basketball in December and just had his first game. It is a work in progress. While second grade basketball isn't quite like watching the pro's, it's very entertaining!

Jazmin: where do I begin? She has been crawling now for over a month. Her first crawling experience was when her and I were in Seattle in the beginning of December. Since then, she's become a professional herself. She walks along the furniture and is starting to walk behind this walker/pusher toy thing. I'm sure she'll be off and running very soon! She seems to be bored with baby food as she wants to feed herself...all by herself! She puts those 2 teeth she has to work for sure! Jazmin seems to be very independent. She loves to play with her toys (either in her playpen or in her cage) and she loves to crawl around and climb up on everything. I think she prefers to be unsupervised, however, because we have to limit where she wants to crawl and climb!

Cedric works so hard. I honestly have never known someone to be so diligent and dedicated as my husband. While he works so hard at his job, he is absolutely committed to his family. After a long day at work, he comes home to homework, diaper changes, piano practice, baths, etc. and still has the energy to consistently clean the kitchen after I cook dinner. I am so blessed and thank God every day fo Cedric. Oh...and on top of all that...he loves me more than anything in the world!

Well...I'm just pregnant! I'm over the nausea and am not too tired these days. Jazmin keeps me so busy during the day I find myself being reminded by others that I'm pregnant! I get Jaedin off to school and then it's party time with Jazmin until we go get Jaedin at 3pm. I do have a small bump in front of me so holding Jazmin is beginning to get slightly awkward...it will continue to get even more interesting I'm sure.
